Charles River Center Presents Beyond Requesting: An overview of Communication Possiblities using the iPad

The Charles River Center will be hosting Jennifer Abramson, MS, CCC-SLP from the Autism Language Program at Boston Children's Hospital on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Charles River Center in Needham.
Her presentation will focus on the seven pragmatic functions for which all competent communicators use language, including: requesting, protesting, commenting/labeling, directives, questions, transitions and social pragmatics. She will illustrate methods used to promote communication in learners with autism for purposes beyond simple requesting, focusing on the iPad as a comprehensive learning tool. iPad tips and tricks will be shown, as well as various apps and strategies to support language learning and communication.
