BEYOND REQUESTING: AN OVERVIEW OF COMMUNICATION POSSIBILITIES USING THE IPAD

This training will illustrate methods used to promote communication
in learners with autism for purposes beyond simple requesting, focusing on the
iPad as a comprehensive learning tool. iPad tips and tricks will be shown, as
well as various apps and strategies to support language learning and
communication.
Jennifer Abramson, MS, CCC-SLP, is an expert in the fields of autism spectrum disorders and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She has over 15 years of experience in the field, including ten years working at Boston Children’s Hospital as an SLP in the Autism Language and Augmentative Communication Programs. Through her new private practice, Abramson AAC (http://abramsonaac.com), she sees patients at her office in Lexington, conducts in-home and in-school evaluations, consults and therapies and provides telehealth support.
