Yes, I Would Like to Make a Difference

Thank you for helping us to maintain excellence in our programs and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities! Your support is very much appreciated.

Charles River Center is a 501c3 organization EIN # 04-2393108

If you have any questions concerning your donation, please contact Hilary Ryan, Vice President of Development, at 781-972-1030 or hryan@charlesrivercenter.org.

Your tax-deductible one-time gift will help us empower and support people with disabilities by offering high-quality, individualized opportunities that foster independence and community inclusion.

Feel good knowing that you are making an impact every month.  Smaller, automatic monthly gifts make it easy to include charitable giving in your budget. To set up monthly payments, select the “Donate Monthly” option in the Donate Online Form.

Planned Giving, often referred to as gift planning or legacy giving, is a form of charitable giving that involves making a commitment to donate to the Charles River Center in the future, typically as part of an individual’s estate planning. This type of giving allows donors to leave a lasting impact and support even after their lifetime. Planned giving is usually structured in such a way that the charitable gift is realized upon the donor’s death.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individual, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some case, certain liquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.  For more information on DAF giving: https://www.dafdirect.org/what-is-a-daf/index.html

Call or email Hilary Ryan notifying us of your intention to make a transfer, the stock being transferred and the number of shares being transferred.

Double your impact! Please check with your employer to see if your company has a charitable contribution matching gifts program. If so, your gift may be increased or even doubled simply by filling out a simple form.

Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

Qualified charitable distributions allow people 70 ½ and older to give up to $100,000 from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to charity each year. Charitable distributions from an IRA are not eligible for a charitable tax deduction since they are exempt from income tax. The tax-free transfer lets you benefit from making a gift to Charles River Center, even without itemizing.

You should note that the gift from your IRA must be made directly by the custodian of your IRA, not you. Call the financial institution that holds your IRA and ask about its charitable rollover procedures. Please consult your tax advisor to confirm how you would benefit from this opportunity.

The Charles River Center often has a long wish list of items we need to maintain the quality of our programs. Please let us know if you would like to contribute toward a certain purchase, or if you have an item, you think would benefit the Charles River Center.

  • Car Donation: Your car donation supports The Arc’s effort to ensure that people with disabilities enjoy full participation in the community and are granted the same respect, equality, and security as every member of society. Car donation link: https://thearc.careasy.org/home

Tribute:  Choose your donation type from the “Select the Type of Donation You Will be Making” menu, and then provide us information about the honoree in the “Comments about this Donation” section.  You can let us know if you’d like us to notify the honoree of your donation.

Charles River Center currently has two restricted funds:

  • Phil Robey Community Fund: A gift to this fund, created in 2018, provides financial support to adult participants at Charles River to engage in enrichment activities that they could otherwise not afford. The priority is to award grants so individuals can learn new skills, stay active, and enjoy new experiences.
  • Employee Assistance Fund: This program is designed to provide limited financial assistance to eligible employees who are experiencing economic hardship due to certain emergency situations.  All regular full-time employees are eligible to apply for financial assistance after the completion of one year of active employment.  The employee must be in good standing with the organization.  Subject to availability of funds, employee emergency assistance will be provided to eligible employees in the event of a personal financial crisis.  Eligible employees may request assistance up to a maximum of $500.00 per fiscal year.

If you would like to donate to either of these Funds, you may select them from the “Select the type of donation you will be making” drop-down menu.

If you would like your donation to be restricted to a specific program or service, please specify as such in the “Comments about this donation” section.

Your security is important to us, and we take every measure to ensure your information is protected. Charles River Center’s donation process complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The process is fully encrypted using industry best practices to ensure your personal and credit card information is kept private and secure.
