Comprehensive ABI Residential Supports and Services

Charles River Center offers comprehensive residential supports and services for adults with brain injuries eligible for the ABI/MFP waiver. We make it possible for adults with traumatic brain injuries with complex care needs, to receive the services and supports they need to thrive in Southeastern MA communities.

Based on referrals from the MA Dept of Developmental Services and the Mass Rehabilitation Commission, CRC manages newly renovated, accessible small group homes in communities south of Greater Boston. These homes are fully accessible and managed by a Program Director who coordinates a host of support services to keep residents healthy and active.

Nursing consultations and oversight
Assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, dressing, meal prep, eating and mobility
Therapies including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy
Adapted equipment for ADLs
Transportation available
Access to day services and employment supports

Eligibility

To be eligible for the ABI waiver, adults 18+ must be:

Have experienced an acquired brain injury at age 22 or older. An acquired brain injury can result from a stroke, brain trauma, infection of the brain (such as encephalitis), brain tumor, or anoxia (lack of oxygen)
Be living in a nursing facility or in a chronic or rehabilitation hospital for at least 90 days
Meet clinical eligibility requirements to need ABI waiver services
Meet the financial requirements to qualify for MassHealth Standard in the community
