Supported Work Opportunities with Job Coaches

Charles River Center’s Employment Services team provides individualized career exploration, skills development and job coaches for adults with autism and developmental disabilities ages 14+. We empower individuals to identify their own interests, talents, abilities and employment options to help them build meaningful careers, not just jobs.

CRC uses a person-centered approach to supporting job seekers throughout the career exploration and skills development process. Job development is individualized based on the interests and needs of each individual. We help participants find local jobs that match well with their own personal goals, skills and interests partnering with local employers to help them hire and retain a productive workforce.

Our Employment Specialists use a variety of methods to evaluate skills and interests to ensure that job seekers obtain employment they enjoy and that pays at least minimum wage. Charles River Center’s Employment Services collaborates with job seekers offering job readiness services such as vocational assessment, transferable skill assessment, resume and cover letter development, interview skills, job development, job search, self-advocacy, rights and responsibilities of an employee and travel training.

Once hired, our Employment Specialist provides one-to-one job coaching as needed to make sure the individual is prepared and can work comfortably, and successfully perform their job independently. After placement, our skilled Employment Specialist provide ongoing support to ensure each individual progresses and reaches his or her full potential in the competitive labor market. A true win-win.

Eligibility

Adults with disabilities age 14+ who qualify to receive funding for services from the Mass. Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Mass. Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), Mass. Commission for the Blind (MCB), or provide private funding
Once enrolled with CRC, there are no fees connected for CRC’s Employment Services
Following training, transportation to and from the job site must be provided privately or arranged through the funding agency
