Wings for Autism Events in Massachusetts, New England

Wings for Autism^®is a free program created by Charles River Center designed to ease the stress of air travel for families of children and adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Airports can be confusing and over stimulating. Wings for Autism offers a trial, step by step air travel training experience so individuals with special needs and their parents can get comfortable with the airport and flight experience, and gain the familiarity and confidence they need to take future trips.

During this free, half-day event held at Logan International Airport and other regional locations, children and their families are able to familiarize themselves with the airport and travel procedures. Practicing these steps helps establish a travel routine—so important for many children with autism who rely on repetition and structure.

Wings for Autism® was created by the Charles River Center in 2011, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Port Authority. Wings for Autism/Wings for All program has now been syndicated by the Arc of the US and is offered in major cities across the US. Charles River Center is pleased to provide this program for families in Massachusetts and New England in partnership with MassPort and JetBlue.
