Danelle Pits

It’s #TeamMemberTuesday. Say hello to Danelle, a Senior Life Skills Coach in our Day Program. Danelle has been working at Charles River Center for the last five years. Most rewarding part of her job? “To see the smiles on individuals’ faces when they have learned something new from me.” She loves to bring out the creative side of the individuals she works with. Recently, as part of Black History Month, she talked about the poet, Maya Angelou. She did some digging and found a template to use in her writing skills group. Individuals then each composed their own poem, “I Am,” in the style of Maya Angelou. Some of the poems were so beautiful, she said, “they brought a tear to my eye.”
Her favorite activity to do with her group members is arts and crafts – the more hands on the better, as far as she is concerned. Not surprising given that Danelle is an aspiring artist herself – our followers may remember that her artwork was featured in a show, entitled “Advocacy Though Art” at the TILL Wave Gallery in December,2019.
Outside of work, Danelle enjoys hanging out with her two children, ages 10 and 2. She enjoys creating art with them almost as much as she does with the individuals at Charles River Center. 😊
Thank you, Danelle, for your energy, enthusiasm and your creative spirit. You bring out the best in the individuals you serve.
